Folks, the real cost of the gospel is selflessness. That's not a question, it's a statement of Truth.
You died, been made alive, and you now don't belong to you (Col 3:3, Romans 7:1-4). We are commanded (1 John 3:23) to do 2 things: 1) believe and 2) to love like Jesus did.
Yet. We can only love like Jesus if we fully suspend self like Jesus. This is what Jesus asked of the disciples and Jesus asks no less of us. We can only love to the full if we deny ourselves to the full, pick up our destiny, and follow Jesus to the death of self.
The less we fixate on self, the more power we will walk in. That's exactly what Jesus did, He was equal to God (Phil 2) but humbled himself to become flesh in full surrender to The Holy Spirit.
We are called to the same and told to count the cost of following Jesus. Yet. That's the cost .... ourself.
If you want ALL of God, it will cost you ALL of you. And there is no better trade.
