True Repentance

In terms of the Asbury College revival, and repentance - I want to clarify what true repentance is, for this is what The Lord is after.
True repentance isn’t great sobbing, deep emoting, and offering up to God a laundry list of sins … although for an individual, repentance may absolutely include this.
And, repentance isn’t just a change of mind (metanoia) as many suggest.
Why?
Because you are body, spirit, and soul.
Your spirit is perfect, yet your soul is being transformed to align with the truth of God, the truth of His kingdom, and the truth of who you are in Christ.
The soul has two engines - heart and mind. Both of these engines think consciously and subconsciously.
True repentance, would more accurately be Teshuva (Hebrew) …. which is a complete turn to God from deep within the heart. After all, we are justified and made eternal through the heart (Romans 10:10).
Yes. We bring the whole soul - heart, mind, and all the stored contents within - to God for wholeness and restoration.
The Lord is bringing home His prodigals, and as I’ve said before, this large scale repentance will pave the way for great power and an unparalleled move of The Holy Spirit.
Yet.
When the prodigal son changed his mind about his situation in the pig pen, that was metanoia, or mind change. However, when the son began to walk home to Dad, that was Teshuva, a change of heart.
Whether you choose to visit Asbury or another lit 🔥 college - that’s up to you and not my rooted point.
The point is that we move well beyond mental understanding or the cognitive thought that our relationship with God may be strained, and instead, begin to walk home to Him.
The Lord will absolutely meet you with the fatted calf, wherever you are.
