So, I‘m still processing and praying through this, but I almost died yesterday afternoon. For real.
I was all alone eating sticky, chewy salted caramel fudge/toffee stuff. I ate way too much too fast, I didn’t chew it well enough, and it got stuck in my throat.
With my throat already badly clogged due to allergies, it felt like gum stuck inside glue. The stuff in my throat wouldn’t go down, and I couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t get any air, at all.
I’ve been in lots of bad situations, but for the first time I really thought I was going to die … yet I was 100% calm.
Somehow. Without even thinking. I literally started jumping up and down to force that sticky stuff down my throat. And it somehow slid loose.
The only thing I can say is, God is good to me and I’m thankful for His covenant protection.
I’m not afraid to die, but I’m reminded of how much God loves me and how well He has my back.
Covenant. Is everything.
***Update 2 hours later - The Lord just told me that the jumping up and down didn’t do anything, and that HE ripped it out of my throat.***
***Update 3 hours later - The Lord is REMINDING me that when we are stuck, and we are looking for ways out of trouble and distress … we cannot rely upon self. There is NOTHING we can do on our own except lean upon what HE can do, what He can protect, and what HE has absolutely promised to accomplish through covenant.***
