I gave my heart to Jesus?? No, not quite.
Technically, Jesus has given to me His OWN heart.
In Christ, I am a new creation with the throngs of His heart. I didn't give up me, no - I simply became a living, spirit born creature of Christ.
I am no longer the old flesh driven version of me, I am now the new upgraded spirit governed version of me.
By faith, I have been infused with Christ Himself and given a personal identity (a new nature) wrapped around both Him and His own goodness.
Believer - YOU are spirit - but you can choose to operate from what brings death and is now obsolete - the flesh (mind). Yet, Paul says, “The mind (flesh) governed by the spirit is life and peace.”
Yes. We become exactly who and/or what we seek after.
