Put Him in Remembrance

For the easily offended, this post isn't for you :)

Yes, sin has been put away (Hebrews 9:26-28). Yes, sin was dealt with at the cross. Yes, sin has been cast as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).

Yes, we are the beneficiaries of His goodness and free gift of salvation.

But, we were given this gift for HIS own sake!

It hurt the heart of God so badly to be separated from His creation, that He sent His Son to go deal with the boundary of sin.

Yes. The Lord loves us so much He couldn’t stand being apart from us in sharing His perfect love with us. He couldn’t stand being APART from you, so He chose to forgive you before you were born.

BUT ....

The devil is still a legalist. He still uses the law against us, even though we aren’t under the law. The devil doesn’t play fair. The devil doesn’t have polite rules of engagement.

The devil builds cases of judgment against us, steeped from our own unbelief.

Like it or not, we are under the law of liberty or the law of freedom (James 1:25). When we use our blood purchased freedom to operate from fear or to self-indulge and please the flesh ... the devil will bring charges against our soul for unbelief (2 Tim 4:16).

Yes, we are to honor the royal law (James 2:8) or the summation of the law, even on this side of the cross. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14

For this very reason, The Lord tells us to “put Him in remembrance” of the work of the cross.

Yes! This is why we repent for our distance, unbelief, and acts of unrighteousness. Yes! This is why we come before Him REMINDING Him of what was done at the cross on our behalf. Any case built against us by the demonic realm is eradicated by our confession of WHO He is and of WHO we are in Him!

We simply point to Jesus!

And, we are proved to be right, as the charges become null and void. Repentance is our greatest weapon against the fallen world and schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).

“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Put me in remembrance; let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right." Isaiah 43:25-26
