Sanctification

Many grace people will say that we don’t have need to mature because Christ is in us. That we can’t get any more mature (or more sanctified) because the work was done at the cross.

Then why does Paul say that some of the UNSAVED are holy?

If the unsaved can be set apart (made holy) for God and not have Christ in them - then how much more do the saved need to grow into their holiness?

“For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.” 1 Cor 7:14

It’s simple really.

A little baby can’t become any more of a person than they already are at birth. They don’t become “personier” - yet they grow into adulthood as a person.

Same with holiness. You are as set apart as you will ever be. But your character (soul) grows and transforms as you move IN your holiness.

“And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Hebrews 10:10

Peeps. Until you are walking on water or converting water into wine - your soul must transform into His own image. Even then, there’s still greater (John 14:12).
