Out walking, praying, and thinking about authority over sickness.
This blows my mind. The disciples were given full authority over EVERY sickness. Not some. But all.
“And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal EVERY disease and EVERY affliction.” Matthew 10:1
But, that was just for the disciples you say??
Jesus says that if you believe and abide in Him (and His word) - you too are His disciple (John 8:31).
So, why don’t we see the same level of healing the disciples did?
And do remember these untrained guys weren’t filled with the power of the Holy Spirit until Pentecost.
Shoot, to be technical - Judas operated in some level of His authority and he wasn’t even saved (Mat 16:28)! Judas had his hand in the team’s money bag and sold Jesus out, because His heart wasn’t in full surrender!
We can only operate in the level of authority we are willing to yield to. Via our full surrender, we make God fully sovereign. Yes. We yield to His voice and supply in totality.
These 12 guys were no different than you and me. Yet they were given His authority over every sickness. But. They were also sent out with no money, no spare clothing, no extra pair of sandals … nothing but His supply.
We will have the level of authority we are willing to die for.
