Calvinism

Over the years a bunch of people have called me a Calvinist when it comes to the things of salvation. I’ve never really understood the commentary …. because it really makes no sense. 😬

Calvinism teaches that man has no free will and that God simply picks and chooses who is to be saved. They will say that The Lord chose before time began who gets saved.

“In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:11

Yet. On the opposite theological end, Arminianism teaches man has full free will and The Lord has no idea who will be saved. And, of course, you can lose your salvation.

Yet with many biblical positions, actual Truth is usually in the middle. Man HAS free will and the Lord KNEW before time began who’d be saved.

“I make known the end from the beginning” Isaiah 46:10

If you are saved, you were predestined according to His will and desire for you to be saved …. and He already knew that you would believe upon Jesus for salvation. 1 Timothy 2:4

Yes, as I’ve posted many times, once you DO believe, YOU have been made 👉 alive by the Spirit. You are now a new creation.

Forever.

Eph 2:5-8
Col 2:13-15
1 Cor 6:17
Romans 6:3

Often, both sides of a topic are right … and we must look for the middle ground.
