I’ve successfully prayed this many times for myself and other people. I know many who do the same.
When I was strictly a grace teacher, I’d never have prayed, "Come Holy Spirit, come."
Why?
Because we like to say we have all we are going to get. Or, that only Jesus can release the power of the Holy Spirit from The Father.
We all have the same within from our union in Christ. We all can operate in great power if we choose faith.
But. We don’t all have the same upon.
- The within is received.
- The upon is received AND pursued.
It takes faith to pursue that which we cannot see.
“For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.” John 3:34
Paul was content in all circumstances, but was never complacent with knowing Jesus or walking in the power of the resurrection (Philippians 3:10-16).
