I hate controversy and I want to take a moment and make more clear what I was saying about personal relationship and covenant.
I was not saying we don't have personal relationship. We have far more than that, and we don’t realize it.
From where I sit, it’s not covenant and relationship - it’s relationship with God BECAUSE of covenant.
Adam and Eve fell, a covenant was needed to restore man to our rightful relationship with God.
Folks, if not for THE covenant, there wouldn’t be a personal relationship.
More so. Jesus Himself IS the covenant and WAS the covenant that was cut. Isaiah 42:6; 49:8.
We only have access to The Father through Jesus - THE covenant. Truly, we have a covenantial relationship that provides far more than most imagine or even understand along with personal intimacy with God (which was unobtainable prior to the blood and the cross).
Folks. We have and we are because of WHO He is.
- Everything He has we have.
- Everything He is so are we.
- Everything Jesus did we can do.
And unlike earthly relationships, what we have CANNOT ever be broken.
Friends, we were both CREATED and PURPOSED IN COVENANT … always remember, in Christ is covenant language.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus (covenant) for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
Once we understand covenant - our identity is quickened, and we can’t help but walk like Jesus walked.
Bold and fearless.
When I put my hands on someone to pray, I do so knowing by covenant God is going to show up. When trouble comes, I can rest because I know I sit in this perfect covenant.
Remember. You are only able to come before The Father … in the name of Jesus. We have no access of our own. We only have access because of the covenant (Jesus).
Peeps. We have an iron clad covenant we can’t mess up that gives us life here and forever in the very intimate presence of God.
He calls me son, because Jesus came before me.
