Jesus Came Back?

Spend any amount of time on FB and you will see much junk theology in your feed.

In my opinion, one of the worst is preterism. Specifically, the notion that Jesus already returned in 70 AD - and because He has returned - there is no eternal judgment for the unbeliever.

This false teaching is super EASY to disprove. All we have to do is look at the words of Jesus, the one doing the returning.

In the parable of the tenants (Matthew 21:33-46), Jesus is speaking directly to the Pharisees telling them that Jerusalem and the temple system will be destroyed for their self righteousness and unbelief.

In the parable, the master sends the prophets, they are beaten and killed. The master then sends the son, and he too is beaten and killed. Then, the master who is the owner of the vineyard comes Himself to deal with the wicked tenants.

The Father came back in 70 AD to bring judgment to Israel. Folks. Jesus didn’t come back, The Father did.

When Jesus returns, He will separate the sheep from the goats and JUDGE the nations (Matthew 25:31-46).

False theology is the work of the devil, and the intent is to thieve the fruit of faith growing from your own limbs. Check everything. Me. I refuse to ever be fooled again.

Parable of the Tenants

33 “Hear another parable. There was a master of a house who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a winepress in it and built a tower and leased it to tenants, and went into another country. 34 When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to get his fruit. 35 And the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them. 37 Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’ 39 And they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” They said to him, “He will put those wretches to a miserable death and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.” Matthew 21:33-41
