Hmmmmm. All things work for the good .... this verse gets abused, misquoted, mangled, and far too undervalued. In context of Romans chapter 8 on the spirit realm, this verse really says 3 distinct things:
1) Pray via the spirit, even when you don’t know what to pray.
2) As you pray and as the spirit intercedes on your behalf, all things will work for the good of the believer in the 👉 Spirit realm.
Why?
3) Because you will conform deeper and deeper into the image of Christ, the image God desired for you from the very beginning.
Working for your good is literally a prayer sandwich.
Prayer in the spirit (bread of life)
Working for your good (meat; the doing)
Conformity to Jesus (bread of life)
PRAY:
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
WORKING FOR YOUR GOOD:
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
CONFORM:
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
