Red Sea

Imagine Moses and the masses at the Red Sea. Backs to the wall. Enemy army advancing. Everyone whining, complaining, thinking they were going to die, and openly wishing they hadn’t left Egypt (their place of bondage).

And. What does Moses do? He begs God for help.

And. What does God say back to Moses?

“Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.” Exodus 14:15

Moses had already seen the 10 plagues, the working of his staff, and the power of God. And I believe The Lord was really saying, “Moses, what’s still in your hand?”

Yes. Moses had a staff … a staff or rod of authority! And, in that authority, God wanted Moses to imagine (same meaning as to meditate or to think upon) what he could do with that staff in the name of The Lord. Yes. The Lord wanted deep hope to arise within himself from the belly of trusted expectation.

The Lord then in the next verse says, “Lift up your staff (authority), and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.” Exodus 14:16

From a place of faith, I believe The Lord wanted Moses to come up with that solution on his own.

Sometimes when our back is against the wall, God wants us to take a survey of what we DO have and imagine what miracles will flow out of our authority in Christ ... when we apply trusted expectation.

  • Moses had a staff.
  • David had a rock.
  • Joseph had a dream.
  • Joshua had courage.
  • Gideon had a promise.
  • Esther had a NOW call and purpose.
  • Daniel had his devotion to God.
  • The 3 boys in the fiery furnace had their integrity.

Peeps. The difference in faith and fear, is the expectation of the outcome. Take stock of what you DO have. And in your God given authority, go forward.
