I’ve read (or skipped over) this verse a zillion times. Stop and think for a moment.
The same way a garment gets old, wears out and then gets replaced. The same way you change clothes or roll up your own dirty bathrobe …. The Lord will one day wipe away the foundations of earth for a new earth, and He will super easily relocate the heavens to a new heaven.
The heavens and earth will absolutely 100% perish ….
And, even then, Jesus never changes. Jesus will always be, and always be who He says He is. He is good, will always be good. No matter the circumstances, He is good in that very same circumstance.
Remember, what or who are you working for?
Don’t work for things that will get rolled up and thrown away, work for those things that will stand for eternity …. yes, those things that are wrapped in blessing others with the love and goodness of God.
“You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning,
and the heavens are the work of your hands;
they will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment,
like a robe you will roll them up,
like a garment they will be changed.
But you are the same,
and your years will have no end.”
Hebrews 1:10-12
