Sickly House Plant

The last couple of years, The Lord has had me focused on the heart of man. As such, I have spent a lot of time meditating about the parable of the sower (Mat 13). At the end of this explanation, is a revelation from last night that is worth the read.

Seed = Word of God
Soil = Heart of man

Pretty basic.

4 kinds of hearts or soils.

1. Seed sown along the path. Immediately snatched up. Doesn’t penetrate the heart.

2. Seed sown on rocky terrain. Only shallow soil is available because of the rocky terrain hidden under the soil. Seed springs up into life quickly, but fades just as fast because of scorching persecution. There’s ZERO root system for the plant to feed from and secure to.

3. Come back here in a moment.

4. Seed sown in a receptive heart, good soil. Coming out from the heart, is a crop that is 30, 60, 100 return on what was sown. This heart has multiple trees, shrubs, plants, and greenery flowing from the soil.

Back to type 3. This soil is where I want to park for a minute.

The seed is sown INSIDE the soil. Yes. The seed (word) is sown INSIDE the heart.

Unlike types 1 and 2, the seed takes ROOT IN THE SOIL. The word (seed) has taken root inside the heart.

Then.

The seed sown INSIDE the heart, produces some resemblance of greenery but THE WORD (seed) is choked out by the deceitfulness of wealth and concerns for the things of this world. What comes out of this heart, is a sickly plant.

Drained of nutrients. Drained of resources. Drained of life. It’s alive. But barely.

Yes. Think for a second. Imagine a seed inside a heart.

The seed is choked out by the thorns and thistles 👉👉 INSIDE the heart!

Imagine that seed inside the heart being choked out and suffocated by the prickly things INSIDE THE HEART

You got it.

Our own heart thoughts.
Our deceitful heart desires.
Our misplaced values and focus.

Inside the heart, these faulty heart postures of thorns and thistles choke out what God wants to do WITHIN your heart!

Allow God to examine what’s in your heart, and to bring to light that which restricts what He wants to bloom through you.

Our heart is His. The junk in it is ours. 🔥
