I had a radical revelation today, and it’s so simple. I broke into tears.
Under the mosaic law there was NO sin offering for sins of INTENT. There were only offerings for accidental sins - wrongdoings that didn’t sit deep inside man’s heart of intent.
Essentially. Sin itself is a general term for “missing the mark” which includes accidental disobedience and those wrongdoings done with INTENT.
For the sake of brevity, transgressions and iniquities are terms used to describe sins of INTENT that come from within the HEART of man. Yes. These are sins of rebellion, pride, and open opposition to God.
Jesus did what the sacrificial system could NOT do. He took upon His flesh the HURTS that were done with INTENT to HIM and to YOU.
Peeps. He became the sin of INTENT that crucified Him.
From the heart within, His OWN enemies wanted Jesus dead. And. JESUS BECAME THEIR SIN OF INTENT.
Friends. Do you hear what I’m saying? I began weeping when I realized this today.
Anything ever done TO me or my family by another WITH INTENT … JESUS BECAME that sin.
How can I ever hold anything against anyone? Jesus became the sin that INTENTIONALLY put Him on the cross.
Yes. Even for His enemies, Jesus became SIN of INTENT.
For those who crucify us. For those who slander us. For those who harm us. For those who try to destroy us. For those who abuse us.
We become love. We become Him. It’s that simple.
“But he was pierced for our 👉transgressions; he was crushed for our 👉 iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the 👉 iniquity of us ALL.” Isaiah 53:5-6
