As I’ve written before, God isn’t fully 100% sovereign in this earth. God has NO ability to alter the free will of mankind, there’s a god of this world, from the day we are born our bodies outwardly decay, and we live in a fallen system.
So, since God isn’t fully in control .... I should panic? Right?
I mean, I need to go grab the bull by the horns because it’s up to me to take care of me, right?
Wrong.
From a place of surrender, and FULL 100% trust .... we choose to make God sovereign over our lives. Sovereignty is something we give TO GOD.
When we come to surrender. When we choose God as Lord over our everything - that’s when God can finally stop opposing us and move fully on our behalf.
From our free will of surrender, we yield to the full will of God. We literally put God in charge and in control. We let God drive.
Yes. When we do things our way, how we want, and rely on self ... to some degree God HAS TO OPPOSE US. Our way is pride. His way is life and peace.
Trust God. Yield sovereignty.
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6
