Understanding true grace is critical because grace grows, supplies, and empowers us to do the will of God.
But, the false grace camp twists grace into something that’s solely about our identity in Christ and into teaching that rejects the need for our soul to mature.
So. Can I point out the obvious?
If grace is about our IDENTITY … how do we arrive to whatever level of identity that we actually DO have?
By the renewing of the mind and the growth of the soul ….. our thoughts, feelings, will, affect, and personality.
Yes, indentity in Christ comes from the growth or transformation of the soul. So, then obviously the soul HAS to mature or transform!!!
But, by this ignorant teaching, many grace people stop short in their own maturation.
Until your belief and identity in Christ is resulting in water being turned to wine, walking on water, multiplication of food, natural storms being cancelled, and the dead being raised …. your soul must continue to mature.
Even then, we must keep growing into the greater (John 14:12).
You and I aren’t called to just talk about grace and goodness, we are called to transform or become the power of His Grace (1 Cor 4:20).
“For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image (soul) of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.” Romans 8:29
