It's impossible to be clothed with "layers of new" when we are still clothed with the clunky, obsolete, and awkward layers of the old.
New wine will always burst when clothed in the layers of old.
Why? The old lacks the proper elasticity to handle the rigors and power of the new.
This is why God is working on your heart.
This is why God is pruning your identity.
This is why God is ripping out weeds from within you.
This is why God is stretching your inner capacity.
This is why God is making you feel uncomfortable.
God wants to pour HIS new wine through you, that which your current ways of living and identifying cannot support. God is reshaping and expanding the character of His own people, for the benefit of the kingdom.
Folks. That sack of new wine is your NEW heart. TRULY. Without the heart taking on HIS character, the heart can’t sustain the power of the Holy Spirit running THROUGH IT!
Yes, we must surrender the fullness of our hearts and clothe ourselves with Christ.
