Well. Now I’ve heard it all and can officially vomit. 🤮
Been told by respected grace teachers that there are no post cross disciples, that discipleship itself stopped at the cross. Well. If Jesus isn’t your role model, the world is!
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they 👉 follow me.” John 10:27
“Be followers of me (Paul) as I am of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever (are you a whoever) 👉👉👉 follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
“You are my friends if you do what I command you.” John 15:14
“If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our 👉👉 Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing.” 1 Timothy 6:3
“For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an 👉👉 example, so that you might 👉 follow in his 👉 steps.” 1 Peter 2:21
“Go therefore and make 👉👉👉 disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
Grace isn’t a license to sin, and it isn’t a license to do nothing. It sure as holy hot rotten tomatoes isn’t a reason to not follow in the steps of Jesus.
No servant is greater than their Master .... the resurrected life isn’t a pain free life, rather it is a life just like Jesus. Hard stuff. Good stuff. And glory.
