I believe we are in a season where God is exposing darkness. So, that we - His people - can shine truth and bring peace, hope, and glory.
Honestly. I’m not really sure society is worse than it was say 10 years back. I’d argue things that rested safely in darkness - that we are just now seeing - had been there all along!!!
What are the undercurrents of recent scandals, tensions, and violence reported across our news and media?
- Greed
- Lust
- Power
- Selfishness
- Pride
- Fear
- Jealousy
- Shortage/Perceived Lack
- Anger
- Hate
- Discontentment
All fruit of darkness.
Paul says, “But everything exposed by the light becomes visible — and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.” Ephesians 5:13
The junk we are seeing has always been there - but as God pours out His own light (in preparation for a radical outpouring of His Spirit) - yes, each of these horrible things becomes a light!
Think about it.
Enter a dark room with a flashlight - shine it on a chair - that chair itself becomes a light to the rest of the room.
Issues that held our nation and people back - junk that has sat unattended to in the darkness - is now a light unto themselves to bring focus and change.
- Change that we are guardians of.
- Change that we have been commissioned to rally for.
- Change His people have been purposed for.
- Change that lives within us.
- Change that has been prayed for by generations worth of His sons and daughters.
- Change that breaks chains and unshackles the bound.
His Spirit is coming.
Unstable and shaky foundations must be exposed as broken before they can be properly rebuilt.
