In 1987, while flying from Maine to Boston, the pilot of a commuter flight went to close an open passenger door … and was sucked right out of the hatch!
Believing that Henry Dempsey (the pilot) had plunged to his death, the co-pilot made an emergency landing. And to much surprise, there was the pilot clinging on to the aircraft’s exterior stairs.
In fact, when they found the pilot, he couldn’t let go … they had to pry his hands off the stairs!
Peeps. This is what endurance and perseverance looks like in The Lord. An absolute 100% refusal to let go of The Lord, His written word, and His personal promises to us … even when things look terrible.
Yes. We must endure to receive the promise! Like it or not, it’s part of the sanctification (maturity) process!
Friends, we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, rather we are those of seasoned faith who hold fast to The Lord and see the maturity of our own soul. Heb 10:39
Grab hold of The Lord ….
“For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” Hebrews 10:36
